Problem Solving and Decision Making
December 19 - 21, 2017
Effective problem-solving and decision-making is the key to management excellence. Time and again, successful managerial technique has been attributed to the quality of decisions and approaches to problem solving that the management adopts in a dynamic and fluid business environment. Despite its importance, very few managers are groomed in the art and science of making apt decisions, with ease and direction.
KSBL's three-day workshop on 'Problem Solving and Decision Making' covers the techniques, approaches and skills required to making value-creating judgment choices for businesses. It also addresses common decision-making pitfalls and traps that managers are usually susceptible to and ways to avoid them. This course is about taking a proactive approach to problems in the work-place and making decisions through a rational, well thought-out response.
Decision making under certainty and uncertainty
Evaluating trade-offs in situations involving hard choices
Tools and techniques for problem solving: identification, analysis, resolution
Design-thinking as an approach to innovative problem solving
Ways of enhancing creativity in the problem solving and decision making system
Problem solving in complex group decisions
Ethical considerations in decision making for sustainable success
This workshop employs participant-centered, experiential learning processes to develop problem solving and decision making capabilities. Through examples, exercises, case-studies, simulation, role-plays, team learning and videos, participants will not only understand the best practices in decision making but also apply them during the course of the program.
