Dr. Mark de Rond teaches Development of High Performance Teams at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, was in Karachi on the 8th and 9th February conducting a two-day Executive Education Programme on creating High Performance Teams for top corporate executives, for the Karachi School for Business & Leadership (KSBL). He has also taught and carried out research at Trinity College, University of Oxford, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and Stanford University. Dr. de Rond consults for major international corporations such as Rolls Royce, IBM, McKinsey, KPMG, Shell, PricewaterhouseCoopers and BT. The course was attended by COOs, Directors, General Managers and Operational Heads from prominent multinational and national companies across various industry sectors including banking, textile, FMCG, engineering, food, petrochemical, energy, fertilizer, pharmaceutical, health management, chemical and education. Several of the participants discussed about customized executive education programmes for their organizations with the KSBL.
Dr. de Rond used a blend of case studies, classroom exercises and small breakout groups to go deep into the issues of team composition dynamics and how to stitch a high performing team from a diverse group of strong individuals with differing desires and needs. The participants expressed a strong affinity for the learnings gained during the programme and were quick to identify all the various points they would be following up on their return to office. Lively discussions among the participants added further to the richness of the learning experience for everyone.
