The Board of Directors of the Karachi Education Initiative (KEI) held their 16th meeting on 15 February, 2011. The meeting marked the approval of The Dawood Foundation – KSBL City Campus design. The City Campus will be constructed at Stadium Road, Karachi, Pakistan, on a prestigious 3 acre site owned by The Dawood Foundation, in close proximity to other institutions of higher learning such as the Aga Khan University Hospital and Liaquat National Hospital & Medical College. The design concept for the campus building has been developed by William McDonough + Partners (WM+P), a U.S.-based architectural firm known as a pioneer in the sustainable design movement. Founder William McDonough is a winner of three presidential awards and has been cited in Time magazine as “changing the design of the world”. WM+P has designed projects such as the NASA Sustainability Base in California and the American University School of International Service in Washington DC, USA. The local design resource is being provided by AMQ Associates who have vast experience in designing educational institutions in Pakistan. The building construction will be completed by July 2012, in time for entry of the first cohort of MBA students. For details on the City Campus Read more…
