Dr. Islam has been an Associate Professor and Director of the MBA Programme at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and was a Dean and Professor at the University of Management and Technology before joining KSBL. Dr. Islam is currently an Adjunct Professor at JAMK University’s School of Business and Services Management, Finland, and has been an Affiliate of the Harvard Business School’s Micro-economics of Competitiveness (MOC) network since 2006. He is also a member of prestigious international academic associations such as The Competitiveness Institute (TCI) based at Harvard University and the American Society of Competitiveness (ASC).
In addition to his distinguished academic career, Dr. Islam has also had an impressive international career as a management professional and consultant. He has worked in leading organisations in the corporate sector and has consulted with business organisations, governments, and universities both within and outside Pakistan. His consulting clients include Singapore Productivity and Development Board, Asian Development Bank, The World Bank, UK AID, Citi Foundation and Lucile Packard Foundation. He has been Chief-of-the-Party of USAID’s National Assessment and Strengthening Programme in Pakistan.
Dr. Islam is also involved in executive development programmes around the world in the areas of Corporate Strategy and Competitiveness, Marketing and Branding, Technology Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Leadership Development, Organisation Change and Development, Policy and Industrial Strategy, International Management and Marketing, Social sector Management, and Governance.
