The Alumni Council of KSBL, organized sessions on “LinkedIn Profile Development, Interview Skills & Resume Training,” for current MBA/EMBA students. The sessions were conducted by our alumni, Mr. Sohaib ul Hassan (Deputy Manager Brands, Amreli Steels Limited), Maham Haseeb (Assistant Manager – Compensation & Benefits, Abudawood Pakistan) and Mr. Muhammad Taimoor Abdullah (Trade Marketing Manager – Dabur Pakistan).
Mr. Sohaib-Ul-Hassan in light of his own experiences shared that networking these days has become mandatory to get jobs. These days besides exchanging business cards, it is crucial to be connected on professional networks, specifically LinkedIn. In order to explore avenues with respect to their business interest, he emphasized them to create profiles there, through which they can get connected with prominent business personalities, from different sectors around the globe. Besides sharing insights regarding premium account and also how to enhance account visibility through incorporation of keywords and customized URLs, he also shared multiple ways with students to find a good job through this platform.
While sharing various tips on personal and professional grooming with participants, Ms. Maham shared that in corporate environment they must carry themselves in a manner that their persona exudes confidence. After the interactive session on maintenance of one’s body language during an interview she also discussed business etiquettes with students to help them become the best version of themselves and achieve new heights within their professional capacities.
Mr. Taimoor shared valuable insights with students on creating impactful resume and cover letter writing. He suggested students to be explicit with their career goals while preparing their resume and also they must always mention a job title which clearly defines the position that they are opting for. Moreover, he suggested students to always meticulously go through the job description, while applying for any job and make sure to share the customized resume for that position.
The sessions were quite interactive and concluded with questions and answers, in which all the students ardently participated.
