KSBL collaborated with ICAP (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan), as the learning partner for NFO (National Finance Olympiad); a contest conducted to celebrate the true potential and talent of Finance and Accounting professionals in the country.
As a part of competition, KSBL facilitated a simulation round on Capital Budgeting Strategy. In this simulation participants examined cash outlays and flow patterns. They also developed a capital budgeting strategy and worked on projects that can have positive impact on company’s value. The simulation was carried out for in-depth engagement and understanding of participants, in Karachi as well as in Lahore.
Dr. Zeeshan Ahmed (Dean, KSBL) shared with the participants that simulations in this contest will give them a dynamic idea and help understand the metrics of Capital Budgeting with its overall impact on company’s profit. Moreover, through this activity they will have a unique experience about how CFOs make their decisions on restricted budgets.
As the second round of the Olympiad, KSBL team and the career services staff led by Ms. Aisha Aijaz (HR Head, KSBL) assisted the Competency Based Assessment. In this session, situation-based group discussions were conducted within all teams, through which various competencies of participants were evaluated.
