The Karachi School for Business & Leadership (KSBL) celebrated its Inaugural Commencement on May 30, 2014 at its campus. The newly established business school, which has been chartered by the Government of Sindh, and recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), awarded its first class of students with a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA).
Asad Abdul Muhammad secured first position and received the Hussain Dawood Gold Medal, Subia Faruqi, the second position and Abdul Razzak Tabba Silver Medal while, Muddasir Soomro stood third.
Mrs. Sarwat Mohiuddin, a renowned and accomplished poet and prose writer in the Punjabi and Urdu languages was the keynote speaker.
During his address, Mr. Hussain Dawood, Chairman of the Board of Governors of KSBL dilated on Albert Einstein’s quotation, “Try not to become a person of success but rather try to become a person of value”. He added “Today our inaugural class completes one of the most important chapters of their lives and are transitioning to a life-long journey of leadership through service.”
“We are pleased to offer our country the very first class of future leaders equipped with entrepreneurial energy and innovative thinking. The School has prepared these young adults to have rewarding and fulfilling careers, embarking on a journey of constant personal growth. I am certain they will utilize their learning in the most effective way possible to give back to the society,” said Dr. Shaukat Brah, Dean of KSBL.
The parents were overjoyed seeing their progeny’s hard work coming to fruition. “I am very excited to see my son receive his Master’s degree. The credit goes to KSBL’s need-blind scholarship policy. Without financial assistance, this degree wouldn’t have been possible. I have very high hopes for his future,” said Mr. Abdul Sami Memon, parent of a graduating student.
