KSBL organized a session on the Role of Aman Foundation as Catalyst for Incubating Social Enterprises. The session was carried out by Mr. Khaqan Sikandar (General Manager – Aman Foundation) in which he apprised students about multiple philanthropic projects and initiatives that are being run by Aman Foundation.
Mr. Sikander began the session by giving a brief overview about Aman Foundation and its offerings. He shared that the foundation was established in 2008 with inspiration from epitome of philanthropy Mr. Abdul Sattar Edhi, as a non-profit trust. Ever since its inception Aman Foundation has focused on catalyzing impactful solutions in the health and education sectors of Pakistan. He further added that impact of the foundation’s initiatives is elevating with its latest initiatives and strategic collaborations with different entities.
Highlighting the significant contribution of Aman’s best in class life saving ambulances, Mr. Sikandar shared that over more than 1 million lives have so far been saved on the streets of Karachi and various areas of rural Sindh, including delivery of 200+ babies, through them.
Speaking on the other initiatives operating under the umbrella of Aman foundation he shared that Aman Tech is a not-for-profit entity with an impressive track record in field of vocational training and technical skills capacity building. In terms of accolades the foundation has been offered with several national and international awards like, EMS Service Award (2014), BNP Paribas Prize for Individual Philanthropy (2016) , Centre of Excellence Award (2017), to name a few.
