The Karachi School for Business & Leadership (KSBL) in collaboration with Pakistan Institute for Labor Education and Research (PILER) conducted a workshop on “Labour Market Information and Micro Data Analysis”. The w orkshop was delivered by Dr. Asma Baloch, Assistant Professor at KSBL. Dr. Baloch has a Ph.D. from NUST, Pakistan & Sussex University. The collaboration was owing to the research focus of both organisations.
KSBL was established through a strategic collaboration with Judge Business School, University of Cambridge with an explicit research mandate for contributing to business excellence, policy, sustainable economic growth and development while PILER is an institute with a research focus dedicated to promoting labour rights, democracy, human rights, justice and peace.
The workshop mainly targeted researchers, policy makers and post graduate students who use Labour Force Surveys conducted by Federal Bureau of Statistics to address and analyse labour market issues. This 1-day workshop was held at the KSBL City Campus, and was attended primarily by representatives from PILER, as well as from other universities, like Sindh Madressatul Islam and Bahria University.
The workshop was well received by the participants and they acknowledged Dr. Asma’s approach as well as her extensive expertise and knowledge in this particular area of research. The Post-workshop Feedback conducted also reflects their strong appreciation for the workshop’s organisation and administration as well as anticipation for similar events at KSBL in the future.
