September 15, 2018: The auditorium of the Karachi School of Business & Leadership was bursting with enthusing students and alumni, as the chairman Mr. Hussain Dawood along with the MP & Prime Ministerial Trade Envoy to Pakistan Mr. Rehman Chishti, gathered at campus to conduct an engaging session with students.
Emerged as the leading educational institute to enhance business acumen of students, KSBL has seen great progress in past few years. After highlighting the background behind the institution’s inception, the chairman Mr. Hussain Dawood applauded the faculty members for their relentless efforts; of their ultimate focus on character building and enhancement of business management and decision making capabilities in students. He shared that KSBL has been extremely fortunate in terms of faculty members. It is the main reason through which this institute has graduated some outstanding businessmen in the past years. Moreover he also appreciated the efforts of management who have made their contributions in turning KSBL in the institution of excellence.
Moreover he shed light on the achievements observed by the students in previous years. The institute has consecutively won the CFA Research Challenge Pakistan, LUMS Synergies, IBA Battle of Brains and many other competitions in which students contested with top business schools. Mr. Hussain Dawood also appreciated students from alumni who went overseas and represented KSBL on international fronts and won competitions there as well.
Dr Zeeshan Ahmed (Dean, KSBL) also shared his insights regarding the contemporary teaching methodology and latest initiatives high profile professors at the institute are coming up with. Bringing the endeavors by the faculty in limelight he said, “Over the past couple of years we have been trying to reach out the market and have set up an MBA program where we address to real needs of market, in terms of analytical, personality grooming, and judgment and decision making skills.”
In the light of sudden paradigm shift in digital landscape of Pakistan, KSBL has come up with its own digital economy initiative KIDE (KSBL Initiative on Digital Economy), to make its contribution in the digital technology sector. The initiative is a collaborative effort of Dr Jawaid Ghani (Professor of Strategy & Marketing Research, KSBL) and Dr Shoaib Ul Haq (Assistant Professor of Digital Economy, KSBL). While discussing the future of KSBL, they shared their views regarding this initiative and emphasized on its importance.
Mr. Muneer Kamal (CEO-KEI), while sharing his experience at KSBL said, “With my experience of three years, the one thing I am absolutely certain about is that this institution is in absolutely safe hands. Besides our cutting-edge MBA program, the upcoming establishment of Engro Leadership Academy and the initiative of KIDE, undoubtedly we are the world-class business school.”
Later students also got the opportunity to have a session with the MP & Prime Ministerial Trade Envoy to Pakistan Mr. Rehman Chishti. In the light of his own successful career journey he encouraged students to remain focused and determined towards achieving their goals and always be prepared to listening to good advice. He further emphasized them to never give up in any situation, because they might never know how spectacularly the most adverse of the situations, in the end might turn out to be in their favour.
An invigorating Question and Answers session marked conclusion of the event. It ended with Mr. Hussain Dawood presenting Mr. Rehman Chisti with a memento and appreciating him for his endeavors.
