Mr. Shabbar Zaidi, Partner, A. F. Ferguson & Company and an honorable Member of Karachi Education Initiative (KEI) delivered an informative session on “The Economic Future of Pakistan” to the MBA students on December 20, 2013 at the KSBL Campus. He discussed how he sees the economics of Pakistan moving from 2013 to 2020. He felt the present state of economic affairs of Pakistan is not the result of degradation or economic policies that have been followed in the last 65 years, rather these problems are much older. Many factors have accelerated them; their roots in the society, culture, industrial economics and the way things have moved around in the geographical entity. He explained how Pakistan is going through gradual degradation in economic prospects.
In the latter part of the session, Mr. Zaidi motivated the students to become active contributing members of their societies and the country, as Pakistan needs young and energetic people for growth and development. He encouraged the youngsters to read about policies and laws made in the past to avoid making the same mistakes. Last but not the least, Mr. Zaidi looked very optimistic knowing students were doing well in studies and were capable of becoming productive citizens.
