KSBL Circular Plastic Institute (CPI) aims to establish an ecosystem for circular economy in Pakistan. Situated on the academic side of the academic-practitioner ecosystem, CPI aims to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing, reprocessing, and plastic use and ensuring adequate end-of-life management of plastic through collaboration, research, and implementation.
Our Vision is to be the global leader in driving a sustainable manufacturing, reprocessing, and plastic use economy, where resources are conserved, waste is minimized, and a circular economy is promoted.
Our Mission is to bring together industry, government, and academia to drive innovation and up-taking of evidence-based planning that reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing and reprocessing, while encouraging the responsible use, treatment, and disposal of plastic to facilitate plastic circularity in Pakistan and to protect our planet.
Innovation – Invest in research and development to identify and develop new technologies and strategies that can reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing, reprocessing, and plastic use.
Collaboration – Foster partnerships between industry, government, and academia to share knowledge, resources, and expertise to drive progress towards the goal of reducing environmental impact.
Implementation – Work with companies and organizations to deploy advanced technologies and best practices in manufacturing, reprocessing, and plastic use, with a focus on scalability and replicability.
Education & Awareness – Raise awareness about the environmental impact of manufacturing and plastic use, and educate the public, industry, and government on the benefits of sustainable manufacturing, reprocessing, and plastic use practices.
Monitoring & Evaluation – Regularly monitor and evaluate progress towards the goal of reducing environmental impact, and adjust the strategy as needed to ensure continued progress.
Encourage Circular Economy – Encourage the use of circular economy principles such as recycling, reusing and composting to reduce the overall use of plastic and minimize waste.
Encourage green procurement – Encourage companies to adopt green procurement policies, to ensure that the products and services they use and sell are sustainable.
Encourage behavior change – Encourage behavior change among individuals and organizations to adopt sustainable practices in manufacturing, reprocessing, and plastic use.
Encourage Government policies – Encourage government to adopt policies and regulations that support sustainable manufacturing, reprocessing, plastic use, and end-of-life management.
