Dr. Rubina Masum

Dr. Rubina Masum is an Associate Professor of Linguistics with a robust academic background and a significant body of published work encompassing Linguistics, Literature, and Psychology. She earned her Ph.D. in Linguistics from Hamdard University and possesses 16 years of teaching experience at prestigious institutions in Karachi, including DHA Suffa University, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University, Lyari, Greenwich University, IQRA University, Indus University, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology, and Bahria University.

Dr. Rubina’s contributions to the field of Linguistics extend beyond her teaching role. She is a prolific researcher with 28 publications in internationally recognized journals and presentations at national and international conferences, including the UNCIT University of South Asia and the 31st IBIMA Conference in Milan, Italy. She has also served as the inaugural editor for Benazir Research Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (BRJHSS) at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University, Lyari, and was a member of the editorial committee of the Society of Pakistan English Language Teachers in 2020. She actively engages in the peer review process for various academic and scientific journals. Her research interests encompass Psycholinguistics, Experiential Learning, Communicative Language Teaching, Linguistic Theory, and Classroom Practice, highlighting her dedication to the field and the academic community.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Dr. Rubina is a versatile professional who has excelled in two distinct fields. She initially honed her skills in banking and later specialized in Speech and Hearing, offering tailored care to clients with Auditory Processing Disorder and Speech disorders. Her expertise includes expressive and receptive language disorders, fluency disorders, and aural rehabilitation for individuals with hearing impairments. Several of her publications underscore her commitment to positively impacting the lives of those with speech and hearing difficulties. Dr. Rubina possesses the education, training, and personal qualities necessary to understand clients’ concerns and customize therapy plans accordingly. She is deeply committed to community engagement, dedicating her time to mentoring educators, conducting workshops, and raising awareness about speech and hearing disorders. Her belief in empowering individuals with knowledge and skills for a brighter future is evident in her actions and contributions.
